Quarantine Diaries: Entry One

3:12 PM

The blog title couldn't get any more cliche, could it?

Also, what is up with my blog cover, right? In my defense, it's the quarantine look - messy hair but with all my face adorned with my full eyebrows, winged eyeliners and mascara ;)

It's been over a month since I've been to the city and being at home has made me become more creative in my routine. For the benefit of the people who have been living under a rock for the past four months, let me just give a quick runthrough of what the world has become. There's a pandemic and the world's economy has been going downhill. Well that's the bad news. The good news is apparently, we've been breathing cleaner air because of less pollution. So as the meme goes, the world is healing.

Now that I've kept you quite up to date with the world news, I'd like to share now all the things I've been up to while being in quarantine.

To begin, work has been the same. The only major difference is that I'm now working with the fan on my face for 8 hours a day as the humidity in the Philippines continue to rise at 30 degrees Celsius. Other than that, I guess, this new normal in terms of working is kind of alright. I'm getting used to it and honestly, I'd rather just endure the heat than risk getting the virus and (God, forbid) infect my family. While I find some comfort in working at home, I've been feeling quite worried about gaining weight since food has been much easily accessible. With that, I've incorporated some yoga and workout in my everyday routine.

Admittedly and I think most people have the same experience, the quarantine hasn't really been good to our mental health. So every time I go out and do groceries, I see to it that I stock up on some personal food items and my pretentious ass has been trying to cook/make my own meals. But majority of my meals are, of course, prepared by my mom. Nonetheless, all I'm trying to say is I've been trying to learn how to cook out of pure boredom and I realized it might be some good skill to bring if ever I decide to live independently.

I may be pretentious but I do not lie. So that's actually an instant carbonara I bought from the local supermarket. In case you're curious, it's the San Remo brand.

One beverage that has also been a great company is my all-time favorite vodka drink - SMIRNOFF!!

Another coping mechanism while on quarantine has something to do with my hair. Yes, folks, I have succumbed to the call of the FRINGE CLUB and cut my own bangs.

I do not want to say there is a silver lining about being in quarantine because I do not want to sound insensitive about the plight of the people who are inconvenienced by this especially those who have lost their jobs and who just rely entirely on the government's assistance. buuuuut me saying some positive effect out of this is also me acknowledging my privileges.

Okay, that was some long ass explanation.

Two positive effects of quarantine on me:
  1. I've finally decided that I'll learn how to cook.
  2. I've been working out consistently.
Also, from what I've gathered from constantly being on my phone, I have too much selfies I'm afraid I'm at a tipping point towards being narcissistic. Okay, okay, I'm exaggerating but seriously, I have never had this much selfies pre-quarantine days.

I think I've mumbled enough to keep you occupied for the last 10 minutes.

Anyway, thank you for reading through (even though this has just been an utter nonsense)

Keep Posted and I might just get into some more useful posts :D
